Matt Smith has been President of the Garland Police Association since 2016, and has worked as a law enforcement officer with the city of Garland for over 10 years. Previously, he was with the Shreveport Police for 11 years and has also served in the Army. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from LSU-S.
David Galvan has been the Vice President of the Garland Police Association since 2016. He has served as an officer with Garland Police for 23 years in roles including Neighborhood Police Officer and Criminal Investigations Department, and he currently works with the Narcotics Unit.
Trey Ashcroft has been on the board of the Garland Police Association as the 2nd Vice President since 2016. He has worked with Garland Police for 20 years, and is currently serving with as a Neighborhood Police Officer and SWAT.
Chad Stallings has been on the board of the Garland Police Association as the Treasurer since 2016. He has worked with Garland Police for 14 years and is currently a School Resource Officer. Chad also served as a Marine.
James Seaberry was formerly the Garland Police Association FOP President and has served as the Secretary since 2016. He’s been with Garland Police for 26 years, and has served Garland and the country with roles in the Honor Guard, Neighborhood Service Team/Police Officer and as a Marine.
Daniel Klug was appointed Chaplain of the Garland Police Association at the end of 2019. He has served two years with Garland Police Department.
Daniel spent 6 years in the United States Navy and is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in English at the University of Texas.
Walt Carter is the Sergeant At Arms for Garland Police Association and has been with the department for 15 years, where he works as an officer in the Criminal Investigations Department. He was also formerly a Texas State Trooper for 9 years, as well as former SWAT and Narcotics.
